Forest Makers was formed by a group of Forest of Dean based artists because we wanted to organise and run our own events. This means that we can manage the space, the publicity, and the cohesiveness of each show to create stand-out experiences for other artists, exhibitors and visitors alike.
We curate each event to showcase a balanced range of artistic disciplines that conform to our ethos of Unique, Handmade and Local, and artists, makers, and workshop leaders are selected on this basis.
Our events also feature hands-on workshops and demonstrations to support and promote the opportunities that are available in the Forest of Dean, in order to learn new skills from experienced tutors and workshop leaders.
All of the artists and makers who exhibit with us are proud farOpen members, and we are hugely grateful for all of the support that the farOpen team offers us with the additional promotion of our events.
